Welcome to North East India

This is in continuation of my presentation on “Emerging Sectors in North East India and Value of Networking” in the North East India Investment Conference held in New York on September 26, 2007. As already discussed in the Conference, we have set up a networking platform to develop individual and institutional connectivity.

The platform will share information with interested entrepreneurs, NRIs and their Indian counterparts through the NEDFi gateway. The basic role of NEDFi will be

• to act as a contact point for investors seeking investment opportunities in the NE Region
• to develop a set of off-the-shelf projects for potential investors
• to facilitate coordination with the concerned State Govts & their agencies on behalf of the investor(s)
• to coordinate and facilitate institutional funding of projects with other financial institutions & banks
• to coordinate with various organizations to find local partners in the North Eastern States for overseas investors to set up joint ventures with Indian companies/ entrepreneurs

The platform is intended to be a network of individuals, institutions, organizations, entrepreneurs, potential investors, academicians, researchers, policy/ development planners and more particularly, those who are concerned about economic, social and cultural well-being of the people of the North Eastern States of India.
